    Hello Everyone,

      Welcome to today's Teal Thursday.  How is the day finding everyone?  How have you been?  Any updates you care to share?

    Looking forward to seeing who is around today.   It is a dull, rainy, cool day here in Ontario.  Mother Nature is in one of her mood's again.  What is the weather like there?  The spring flowers are starting to bloom and get showy around here. Nice to see some colour out there.

    Well, I will wait to see who is  around and if anyone's up for talking.

    Hello Strongwoman.  This is my first post.  I have been reading posts and discussion threads for a while now.  So nice to have a Canadian group to follow.  Sitting here finishing up chemo, as I write this.  I am receiving my fourth round of doxil/avastin.  Being treated for first recurrence, unfortunately only 4 months after completing frontline.  Chemo seems to be slowing down cancer but not really treating it.  Doctor is looking into clinical trials and requesting that testing be done on my tumour to see if has high folate receptors.  If so, she will refer me for treatment with a fairly new treatment.  I had initial diagnosis, biopsy at London Health Sciences, then 3 chemos at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener, surgery back in London and rest of treatment has been in Kitchener.  I have received amazing care.
    we are having a rainy day here in Kitchener.  The hyacinths, daffodils and even a couple of the mini irises in my garden are blooming.  Also having some lovely spring temperatures here.  😊

    @sheryl   Hello and welcome to your first post. So nice to hear from you. Sorry to hear that you have had a recurrence. It sounds like they have treatment options for you so that is good news. Clinical trials are good and I know our @GloHo has done several.  She is wealth of information on them.  Great that you are receiving amazing care too. That is always good to have on your team.  Well, I hope you don't feel too bad after treatment today and the days to come.  Now that you know how to post, perhaps we will hear more from you.

    In the meantime, take care of you!

    @sheryl

    Sorry to hear you recurred so quickly after first-line treatment. You have come to the right place to get your questions answered and to let loose with whatever is on your mind. You will find the group very supportive and helpful in answering any questions you may have.

    It sounds like your Dr may be preparing for the approval of Elahere in Canada. That's great to hear!! There is definitely a positive buzz going about in the medical field about this drug. It has been brought up a couple of times on my recent visits to PMH.

    Sending positive vibes your way 🙏.

    Welcome@sheryl. So sorry to hear about the recurrence however glad to see your doc is already looking at clinical trials. I echo@Strongwoman that @GloHo is our expert and does a great job of posting. Just search Clinical Trials on the site if you haven't done so already.
    You have joined a forum with knowledgeable, strong and compassionate women. If you haven't done questions let us know. There's wisdom in this group.
    Hope you feel better each day!

    @Strongwoman

    Not too much new with me. Still feeling okay and going through the screening process for the next trial. I find that I get a little antsy wondering about what the treatment side effects might be. Just a process I seem to go through each time my treatment changes. I have been very fortunate with minimal side effects to each treatment so far…but there are no guarantees so I have to run the what if scenarios through my head each time as well as ask the trial team what the process is in each scenario. Each trial is different and I like to be prepared for whatever may come my way!!

    It is grey with some wetness…not a full on rain yet. Our pup has been spending a lot of time in the basement lately…her safe place during storms 🐾.

    I am starting to get my trial info together. I have posted a little bit…but have much more to share 🤪.

    Have a great day.

    Sorry I am so late to the party!  It was a gorgeous day here in the Cowichan Valley. I spent the day doing yard work then had a yoga class tonight.  I just sat down with a cup of tea to relax before heading off to bed.  I will be spending the next 3 days volunteering for the Vancouver Island Karting Association. I do race registrations so it will be busy.  Health wise I am feeling great now 10 months on Olaparib my bloodwork's good and my CA125 is at 8.

    Sending positive energy and friendly hugs to all.

    @strongwoman I saw my oncologist today for my bloidwork and CT scan results post chemo for my recurrence.   My ca125 is in high normal range and the growth in my abdomen has reduced some, there is some fluid in my abdomen however it is thought to be from the hernia repair last June.    All in all it seems mostly positive.    Fingers
