Good Afternoon Ladies!   It is a windy but warm and sunny day here in Ontario where I reside.  What a change from the multitude of weather brought on yesterday which included wind, snow, freezing rain, rain, thundershowers and more rain and wind.  Glad it changed for the better and we get to basque in the warmth of the sun today.

So, how has everyone's week been?  I know some are waiting surgeries (next week), results and going through treatment. All  of which is enough to keep the mind busy while we physically go through the symptoms we are feeling on any given day.  Today brings for me some abdominal upset so I am taking it easy both physically and when it comes to eating as well.  Can't be too careful these days. My med change has allowed my mind to clear and I am back to knitting again. I am finishing up a project I had started well before we moved the house.  It feels good to be back at it and to begin to see the progress in it.  I have a bit more to go then can start the sleeves of it.  Then I will feel like the project is well under way.  I have both fronts done and the back almost completed.  It is restful, peaceful work and I am enjoying being back at it.

Anyone watching anything good lately?  Any recommendations out there?  Today I knit in silence which is quite peaceful actually.

How is treatment going for you ladies that are undergoing it?  Doing ok with the side effects?  Managing ok mentally, emotionally and physically?  It can be difficult to manage all three at the same time that is for sure.  Anyone waiting scan results?  If so, how are you doing with the waiting?

Well it looks like we will have a couple of nice days of weather here then back to some cold stuff or seasonal temps as they like to put it.  I would rather have the warmth we are having today but hey we don't get to make that choice do we?

Well, ladies, what is on your mind today?  How can we help ease any of it? I am here waiting to see who is on today.  Come on, don't be shy, reach out and tell us how you are doing.

Well other than @mom2boys it doesn't look like anyone is around today.  Perhaps everyone is enjoying the nice weather. If you are, good for you, soak it  in and enjoy it. Whatever you are up to today, I hope you are enjoying whatever it is and that you have a smile on your face.  Looks like it is time to go for this weeks Teal Thursday.  I will sign off now and watch the threads come in for this week.  I will respond when I can and get back to you with any questions or concerns one might have or any updates. I am now going to go for a walk with my son while the weather is still nice out. Enjoy ladies the nice weather while we have  it and whatever else you may get up to today or in the days to come. Take care.

Good afternoon@Strongwoman.  I'm late getting on as I had a Zoom meeting this morning then took my dogs for a nice long walk in the sunshine. It has been lovely to see the sun after the terribly wet March that we had here on Vancouver Island.  I have been busy in my yard getting the property cleaned up after the winter and burning all the limbs and debris.  It's looking like I will be mowing in the next week or so.  I love mowing, Ilya 3 hour chore on my ride on mower but I find it really relaxing.
I hope everyone has a good week and I will try to keep up.  For some reason I haven't been getting notifications when someone posts but I will check in when I can.

Hi@Strongwoman and@JoanEG. I'm still in Florida. Not missing the northern cold. Sorry for being tardy. My father had lung cancer surgery on Monday and is still recovering in hospital. I've been spending my time taking my Mum to see him and managing their affairs. My Mum has dementia so I'm staying with her while Dad's recovering. She has lots of her own appointments too so helping with that.

I'm going to admit I'm feeling emotionally fragile. I've been having lots of lower ab pain since September when I started Lynparza. It's horrible for 7-10 days and then it pauses for 5 or so days. My oncologist is fully aware. Pooping and peeing are all good. No other issues. My Feb CT showed all clear in chest, ab & pelvis. I had CA125 done here a week ago (self pay) and it was 16 which is really good for me. I'm getting another CT done next week (again self pay). My oncologist is aware. My brain tells me it's a side effect of the Lynparza but it still has me on edge. To add to that my husband's aunt died today from pancreatic cancer. She went fast from diagnosis to the end. Only 68. So sad. So my emotions are erratic, and when someone close dies of cancer I find it heightens your fears. I'm trying to stay strong as I'm focused on my parents but I won't lie, it's hard when I'm not feeling great. Plus I can’t get home for the funeral as I need to be here for my parents. So having guilt there. Ok, that's my little pity party. Thanks for listening.

Hey@Alwayslearning I'm so sorry you are feeling fragile right now.  You have a whole lot in your plate with your parents and not feeling well yourself.  I hope the tests you had done will put your mind at ease.  I'm glad you came here and expressed your feelings you know us Teal Sisters have your back!  Sending you strength and love.  🩵

@Alwayslearning  You are having a time of it, aren't you?  Here is hoping your Dad's recovery is going well as you help your Mom and her dementia. Her having lots of appts herself certainly would be keeping you busy, that's for sure.

It's ok to be feeling emotionally fragile.  We all do at some point in time for whatever reason at the time. Sorry to hear about the lower abdominal pain you have been experiencing.  Good that your Oncologist is aware of it too. Odd that you must self pay for your CA 125 testing when you want it done.  Why is that?  Sorry and condolences on your Aunt dying and that she did not seem that old to be in the category for dying sooner rather than later. Pancreatic cancer is one of those ones that seems to be quick though in both symptoms and in the end. Hard to not feel guilty about not making it home for the funeral when you are in Florida due to needing to be in place for your parents instead.  Unfortunately, it is one of those things you just have to accept.  You can have a pity party anytime you need to, we all need to vent now and then. We will listen to you everytime the need arises. Hope venting let a lot of the emotional dumping come out and you feel better now that you have.  I know I would feel better to be able to vent and allow it to come out rather than bottled up inside. You are doing amazing with everything. How much longer will you need to stay in Florida to help your parents? Bet you are looking forward to returning home soon and returning to your normal activities.  That would be nice.  Well, I will be thinking of you and your parents over the next few weeks as you all recover.  In the meantime,  take care of yourself and get some relaxation in there somewhere.  All the best.

Hi @Strongwoman...my Dad's surgery went well. The surgeon feels he got all the cancer and margins were clear around the tumour site so that's positive. We are now dealing with an enlarged prostate and stone in his bladder which requires him to have a catheter 24/7. It's always something right!

You are correct that I'm looking forward to getting back home...I miss my family and friends and my granddaughter especially. A few more weeks and then I'll be back. Oh and I have to pay for the CA-125 as I'm in the U.S. so I can go online and order it and get it done at a nearby lab. It's not something that would be covered by our Canadian system and I'm ok with that. My CT (chest, ab, pelvis) is on Thursday. Hopefully they find nothing serious but the ab pain has intensified so it does make me nervous that's for sure. I keep reminding myself my CA-125 is well below 35 and also that my CT scan 2 months ago when I was also having ab pain, was all clear.

Thanks as always for listening. It's always helpful to know there are Teal Sisters out there as those close to us, who are not in this fight, don't often understand what we are experiencing. Take care.

@JoanEG  Sounds like you have been keeping yourself busy outside.  Cleaning up the debris is always a chore come spring. Glad you enjoy doing it.  I can't believe something like mowing the lawn is in the near forecast for you.  It will be awhile here before that is in the cards.

Do check in when you can and in the meantime maybe they will fix the bug that is not allowing you to get the notifications and posts.  Take care.

Hi@Strongwoman I am now getting notifications somI will definitely be staying in much closer touch.  I have spent the past week raking and loading my little trailer that I can to behind my lawn tractor with debris.  I had a huge bonfire on Friday and even roasted myself a hot dog for dinner.  I did get all my edging done but then the rains came back and I have a reprieve from mowing.  I'm very happy to know you seem to have your bowel issues under control and I hope you continue to do so.  Sending you a warm hug. 🫂
