Hi all. I hope you are having nice Thursday's. I'm currently at PMH in Toronto for my three month check in with my gyne oncologist. This is my two year mark since starting my Lynparza so I'm guessing it's about to be pulled from my regime. By all accounts I've done well in it. Been on the full dose the entire two years and my CA 125 from Tuesday was 16. That's the second lowest I've ever had!! So, I've got lots of questions, as does my hubby who is with me today. I am of course grateful to have completed the two years but scared to be off a treatment that has obviously worked. I'll share back after my appointment.

I hope you are enjoying the summer wherever it may find you. I know we are all at different stages in our journeys. Please continue to share your questions, thoughts, and learnings. I know I continuously benefit from the wisdom from you all!

@Alwayslearning yeah on your lab work, always great when we see low numbers.  I hope your appts go well, I'm sure they will. Keep us updated on if they will take you off lynpraza.  I have heard some people have managed somehow to stay on these drugs for years.  Not sure how they did it but it has been done.  But I also know the doctors like to say evidence based research suggests 2 years and no benefits to continue longer.  None the less anxiety provoking though.

i just had my GP appt today and he thinks I should try and go back to work at this point…..I'm not sure how that will look yet or what capacity or type of work they will find for me….still in limbo, sounds like it's a bit of a process to get back to work, but he said he would be there to help along the way.

Hi @Meinvan ... well the Lynparza will stop. My gyne oncologist said the evidence they use now does not support continued use. I also checked with an gyne oncologist friend in the U.S. and he was in agreement. So, my Lynparza time will come to an end this month. I am now a leaf on the breeze. It's 2.5 years since my initial diagnosis. Major surgery, chemo and now the completion of the Lynparza (on full strength the entire 2 years). I am very thankful to have gotten to this point. Am I nervous. Heck yeah. To this point it's been constant momentum that was 'treatment' related. As my Dr. reminded me, the disease has been treated and so far we've won 😊. She said that the recurrence issue will of course weigh on my mind however I've successfully gotten this far so take the win. So I do!!

I have an appointment already scheduled at PMH with my oncologist in 6 months. They will do labs. Unless I develop symptoms that need to be explored and/or my bloodwork says otherwise, I won't have CTs.  I will continue to be monitored every 6 months at this point. Not having to drive into Toronto every few months is also a win!!! Again, I'm nervous as we all know symptoms are not always obvious however I also know that if I have any concerns, my gyne oncologist and my GP medical teams are there to catch me.

So...I will live life!!! That in and of itself is something to celebrate isn't it?! 🙌

Now...over to you. How are you feeling about going back to work??

Hello! Hope everyone is doing well.
@Alwayslearning I remember when I had to stop Lynparza as well, and was freaked out! I did notice that my energy slowly started to come back, that was really the only thing that bothered me when I was on it. Your CA125 is good, yay!

I'm waiting for a ct to be scheduled here in the next couple weeks and then meet with my oncologist mid September. Then I will know what the immediate future holds- more treatments or a slow return to work! I'm nervous! I've been off treatment since the end of April with no bloodwork done too, so my anxiety is building

Hi @MamaJacks ... OVC anxiety is the worst!!! Interesting regarding the energy. To be honest I haven't experienced much energy drain at all. In fact I tend to be in the gym 5 days a week so definitely have energy. Any lapses I attribute to my 61 years of age 😆. I'm going to watch though to see if I actually do feel an energy change. Who knows, maybe it's been suppressed and I didn't even know it! 🙃

I did read your profile. What a journey you've had!!! Would you mind sharing what your initial diagnosis was e.g., type and stage? I'm sorry if I missed that.

You are a clear warrior and survivor!!! I'm sending positive vibes into the stratosphere for you for your CT to have nothing but good results. Deep breaths for that scanxiety!!!
