Many people who have had chemotherapy continue to experience ongoing nerve pain in their hands or feet, such as burning, tingling, numbness, or shooting pain. These symptoms can be long-lasting and have a big impact on day-to-day life. The METACIN study is a research study looking at two medications commonly used for nerve pain to see which one may work better for chemotherapy-related nerve pain.

Participation is completely voluntary, and choosing not to take part will not affect your current or future care. Adults in British Columbia who have ongoing nerve pain after chemotherapy may be eligible, and people can refer themselves to the study.
