Hello all,
One of our Teal Sisters @MissERP got me to thinking the other day about music and how it can inspire us. She had mentioned a song that was on her mind that says something along the lines of "I'm loving life again" (Ella Langley). It felt right to her about her current space and time.
So I'm curious. Are there songs that are inspirational to others? I thought it would be fun to talk about something more extraneous to OVC. Of course, our diagnosis may have led us to these songs however I often find music that has always been a part of our lives has a way of "amplifying" at times of need. I remember a quote from a mug I was given by my music teacher in high school, "Music has charms to soothe the savage breast, to soften rocks, or bend a knotted oak."
I cannot play an instrument but I can hold a tune and my father is a recreational musician (plays the banjo in a band at 88 years old). My life was interwoven with music so it's always been important to me. Plus for me there's nothing better than windows down in a car, belting out a tune!!!
I'd love to know what songs have provided strength, comfort, laughter, joy and inspiration as you've travelled your journey. You can help me invent my new Teal Sisters playlist. 🎶💙
