@taylormade I don't know if there is one given answer to that question you ask. I say if it is bothering you, shave it off and be done with it. It is why I shaved mine off. The pain in my scalp was too much and I couldn't take it so decided to shave it off to see if it would stop the scalp pain. It helped a bit by doing it and did ease over time. It's up to you when you decide to shave it off. It feeling like it is sunburned can't be a nice feeling and it could be a sign that it is close to dying and then again possibly not. Do what feels right to you and will bring you some relief. That is what I would do. Might as well get comfortable while you wait to see if the pain will subside. Wishing you the best in whatever decision you make.

Subject: Scalp pain timing question
How long does the scalp hurt prior to hair loss. I am at 10 days. Last time 8 hrs ago on same paclitaxel , my hair dropped at 14 days but no scalp pain I am wondering if I should shave my head now as it's the bending backwards hair that hurts. My scalp feels sunburned. Does this mean it's close to dying ?
