  • 1.  Retroperitoneal lymph nodes on pet scan

    Posted 01-25-2026 10:56

Hello everyone. My CA125 had been rising for the last 3-4 months. Was concerned about a recurrence. Repeated CT Scans all came clear. Got a PET Scan last week. The pet scan shows retroperitoneal lymph nodes. I have an appt with my oncologist next week to discuss. Please share if you've had a similar experience and what treatment you got for this. Thank you.

    (I am a stage 4 HGSOC diagnosed in 2024).

Hi @Keepingfaith and thank you for sharing your update. I have always been a bit unclear on a PET vs CT scan so following your post did a google search to understand the difference in use. While I'm glad you were able to get the scan done (I've heard there can be long wait times), I'm sorry about what it revealed. I'm also glad you have forward momentum with an appointment with your oncologist next week. Other than the rising CA125 have you been feeling okay? I'm definitely thinking of you 🩵

@Alwayslearning you're just amazing! Thank you for always taking out the time to read my posts and reply. I truly appreciate you. Other than the rising CA125 levels, I am overall doing well. Lets see what my oncologist has to say. Have been very anxious and hoping all stays well. It's so easy to feel down but I try to stay optimistic. Thanks again. How're you doing? Hope you are well.

@Keepingfaith thank you.❤️ I am always so inspired by the Teal Sisters in this forum and I do sincerely mean that it's a honour to be connected with each and every one of you. Thank you for asking about me. I'm doing well. Have some ongoing abdominal pain that it causing me some grief. Recent CT scans were good. It may be scar tissue related which I'm learning is quite common after major abdominal surgery. The investigation continues.

I'm glad you are otherwise doing well. I understand that this is both a physical and mental game - often times more on the "mental" side. Anxiety is allowed. Sometimes we need to find a way to release the anxiety. I read about "speaking it" into a container (bottle, tupperware, glass jar etc.), putting the lid on and then taking it outside and releasing it. I would then follow it up with my own words of optimism, speak those into the container and release those outside afterwards. Let the good vibes chase away the bad. It sounds corny but sometimes it's more in the symbolism of things.

However you manage we are here for you. Stay strong. Reach out when you need us. Please keep us informed. You've got a LOT of ears listening here. 🩵

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! You're already giving me so much strength. Truly appreciate you. Hoping your abdominal pain is in fact from scar tissue. I too have heard its quite common. Sending you loads of positive healing vibes. I really liked your "speaking it" technique. Will be trying it out. Thanks again for taking out the time ❤️

@Keepingfaith glad you are feeling good other then the rise in ca125.  I'm sure your oncologist will have a plan going forward.  As for PET scans I wish we used them more for monitoring, but seems there are very few of them and wait times can be months.  It seems that in the US they frequently use PET scans rather than CTs.  Good luck going forward, keep us updated.👊🩵
