  • 1.  Ovarian Cancer Survivorship Survey: Understanding Patient and Caregiver Priorities

    Posted 03-06-2025 17:23

We are seeking input on your lived experience with ovarian cancer either as a patient or caregiver. This lived experience is known as "survivorship".  Survivorship is described as a state of being, and can include the perspectives, needs, health, and challenges experienced by people and caregivers after a cancer diagnosis. It encompasses physical, emotional, familial, social, and financial effects of cancer from diagnosis through treatment and beyond.

This survey consists of 15 questions. Your responses will help shape future research priorities for Ovarian Cancer Canada and funding in this area. This anonymous survey will take less than 10 minutes to complete. The deadline for completion is Friday March 28 @11:59pm ET.  Survey results will be shared on Ovarian Cancer Canada's website (https://ovariancanada.org/for-researchers) by April 30.

    Thank you for your participation!

everyone - if you have a moment and can complete this survey for Ovarian Cancer Canada, you can also share it with caregivers as well. It would be greatly appreciated!

I hope you are all enjoying the beginning of spring-ish weather across the country!

@mfallis. Hi, I am curious to know what defines survivor in cancer - 1, 6, 12, 24 months out and still alive? with non progression? Thanks for clarifying.

Hi @Tanja - we are not defining 'survivor' in terms of time since diagnosis or recurrence status. Instead, we are looking at the issue of survivorship in a general sense, meaning the complex experiences associated with an ovarian cancer diagnosis and everything that comes after that. I hope that helps!

Great question@Tanja. That was also my first thought.

    Thanks for the response Alicia@OCC.

Although I am not cancer free, I  consider myself a survivor since I have "survived" for 6 years since my diagnosis.  I hope to get to the survey at some point today.
