    I have been on Niraparib for almost 3 years for maintenance therapy. I am very fortunate as it has worked really well for me, no serious side effects and I am stable. I live in BC and here we get it free for 3 yrs only. My Oncologists want me to stay on it and are trying to find continued coverage for me. Just wondered if anyone else is or has been on this drug and did you stay on it longer than 3 years and if so, how did it happen? Thank you!

    Hi @Mimi1. So great to hear that you're approaching the 3 years and have done well. I'm in Ontario. I completed the 3 years on niraparib and then stopped. Ontario doesn't fund it after that, but my oncologist also said there isn't enough research yet to confirm how long one should stay on it (past 3 years). It's great if your oncologist is trying to get funding past 3 years. Please keep us posted on how that goes! Perhaps things will change for funding.

    @Mimi1

    So great to hear that Zejula has worked so well for you!

    I did not have the same success but my situation was different.

    The only thing I found was in the Glaxo-Smith product monograph that says "Zejula should be continued until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity."

    Of course…

    I don't know how all the provinces are set up for Zejula use. Is the province paying and therefore they set the rules? Is Glaxo-Smith providing via some agreement with the province for a certain amount of time?

    This is so frustrating…a drug that works but for whatever reason (my skepticism says it's probably financial)…it is taken away.

    I imagine your team is doing their best in finding an alternative way to continue this drug for you.

    Fingers crossed that they will be able to find a compassionate use extension for you!!🤞
