    Posted 24 days ago
    Hi everyone:
Can you tell me what the new treatment was that was just approved...but it was in the States and we all said we hoped it would come up here soon.  I always mean to write this stuff down "later", but then I can't find it....

    Hi

I believe the drug we were talking about was ELAHERE, an antibody- drug conjugate. Which is now approved in Canada for specific cases

@brendalee I just tagged you to a thread that may be the one you were referencing although it's a UK study/drug vs U.S.

I'll try to see if there's another thread that you might have been referencing.

it might have been approval for Recalorant which came in March 2026.  I found some threads from 2025 regarding the trials...and saw it was related to cortisol reduction..so that strikes a bell.   But I didn't see the thread from this year when someone posted about the approval, and I replied saying it was probably just for the States...
there was also another interesting post treatment related from earlier this year about something else, that I can't recall either, but even more vague on that one.

@brendalee I searched for "new drugs" and "new treatments" and found the "Relacorilant" post from June 2026. I also found a post from @Gloho who mentioned "Topotecan" in a January Teal Thursday post. Could perhaps be the one you were thinking of?? I know @melissa also mentioned Elahere which has garnered a lot of discussion on this site too.

Perhaps other Teal Sisters will recall anything else recently discussed.

Although I am not familiar with Topotecan, as something that is already available..like Elahere ( i am already familiar with that name)....that wasn't it.
And it wasn't a Clinical trial.  It was something recently approved, and not a stage III clinical trial.

Was Recalorant recently approved?  I know Stage III was fast tracked...

@brendalee I did a Google search and it does not appear it has been approved (yet) in Canada. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved relacorilant in combination with nab-paclitaxel for treating platinum-resistant ovarian cancer on March 25, 2026. I could not find any approval information for Canada. The caveat is that I'm not a medical expert or researcher and I'm relying on "Dr. Google" for this information. I would suggest however that historical patterns tend to show the U.S. approving things prior to Canada (not always but my sense is more often than not). The good thing is it was approved by them and hopefully that means, it's now being assessed by Health Canada. 🤞

@LeslieA perhaps that's a question for the upcoming conference. What OVC treatments approved by other countries, particularly the U.S., are currently being assessed by Health Canada?

I will add this important question to my list. Thank you.
