Hi...thank you for sharing. I was supposed to have Cisplatin & Taxol. Sadly my IP ports (yes that's plural) both failed. My body completely rejected them and I had to have them both surgically removed. They think my abdominal cavity was so inflamed from my surgery it didn't want a foreign object in their. I was switched to Carbo/Taxol. As I thought I was having Cisplatin, I was fully versed in the daily hydration infusion process so while I cannot relate 100% to what you are experiencing, I certainly understand the process. Just make sure you are getting lots of rest. No doubt it's a learning curve. If you have specific questions drop a line in this forum. I'm sure there's someone in here who could share their experiences. You've got this!!

I had cisplatin & taxol injections on day 1. The anti-nausea meds are working fine, which is great. Feel fatigued but don't know if it's from the chemo or the Benadryl! Retaining a lot of fluid from the daily hydration infusions and I suspect, the steroids. Steep learning curve…..

Hello pliversen57@gmail.com" data-itemmentionkey="9bf8ec73-ba7f-47fd-8255-6ff923b913e5" biobubblekey="mentiondd2f85ba-c133-4044-b456-0198e39ac7ba" href="https://ovdialogue.ovariancanada.org/profile?UserKey=dd2f85ba-c133-4044-b456-0198e39ac7ba" data-can-remove="True">@pliversen57@gmail.com and welcome to the OVdialogue forum. Thank you for sharing your story. I like your surgeon's comments about "better than average" chance of recovery with low risk of recurrence. I hope that gives you some comfort. Once the pathology report comes back, they will be able to be more definitive. What chemo drugs did you have for your infusions? How are you feeling after your first one? Do you have any questions for this forum on dealing with side effects? You can also do searches using key words in the search bar at the top right of this page.
There is a lot of information posted by the Teal Sisters in this site. They hold a wealth of support and information. Please let us know how we can help you as you venture through your journey. Know that you are not alone. We are a collective of strong warriors. I've been a member for over a year. I was diagnosed in Feb'24, had major debulking surgery and then completed 6 rounds of chemo, with the last one in July'24. As I'm BRCA-2 positive I was eligible to take a maintenance drug (Lynparza). A year ago I didn't even know what BRCA-2 was or what a maintenance drug was. Thanks to my medical team and the amazing voices on this site, I am so much better educated on things OVC related!
I'm so glad you joined the Teal Tea last Tuesday. I try to go to those when I can. It's another great way to connect and learn from each other.
Again, welcome to the group. If you haven't already, you may want to order a copy of the Ovarian Cancer Canada (OCC) resource guide. I've attached a link below:

I look forward to connecting with you more!

Hi, new to the group and new to this journey. Had surgery on Aug 5th, "low volume" of disease detected, even though surgeon thinks the pathology reports will come back as stage 3C(?). But based on low volume she thinks that with IV & IP infusions on a 3 week cycle X 6, that I have a "better than average" chance of recovery with low risk of recurrence. Had my first infusion yesterday…..joined the Teal Tea this past Tuesday, and plan on taking advantage of every resource available.
