Hi everyone. First post here for me. I had breast cancer 13 years ago and was not prepared to learn two weeks ago that I have a large mass on my right ovary with peritoneal and sigmoid spread. Still haven’t met with a gynaecology/oncologist, that’s the 23rd.
Kinda hard not to be petrified.
Family/friends all saying “you’ll beat this thing” but not sure how realistic that is. 😥

@Bails59 welcome and glad you found this group.  I totally understand being petrified and having to wait for answers.  I first found out in feb that I had OC and the next 2 months were the most gut wrenching, scary, and stressful of my life trying to navigate the system, tests, referrals, appt, biopsies etc.  I had a tremendous amount of ascites and no one was dealing with that, and I felt like I was going to die if someone didn't help me soon.  But once I got into see the gyne oncologist things moved so much smoother and faster.  I found at this stage I just kept telling myself 5 more day, 2 more day etc. to get to the next step.

you are an amazing cancer warrior you have already proven that.  This group of warriors here have been a tremendous support along my journey so ask away, vent when you need to everyone is here for you along this journey and we all bring different perspectives, knowledge, and have travelled many paths along the way.💪🩵🙏🏻

Hi, this is my first post also but feel some connection to your situation.  2012 I had surgery for ov. 5yrs great, 10yrs I think I've made it. 2025, 13yrs later diagnosed with ov cancer, now in the peritoneal.

Such a roller coaster!!! There is so much information it is hard not to be over whelmed. Hold on, make a list of questions, bring a loved one with you on the 23rd.

Find what helps you shut off your brain and gives you a chance to breathe. For me it's my horses, jigsaw puzzles or reading. Take extra care of yourself. Sending positive vibes your way,

    Sandra

Sandra, Thank you for your reply. It still feels like it's not really happening. I have such a happy, active life how can this be? Sorry to hear that you too are battling it after 3 years. Let's keep in touch.

Hello @Horse lover and welcome to OVdialogue. I can only imagine that after 10+ years this would indeed be a shock. I'm am very sorry to hear your news however am glad you found us. The Teal Sisters here are an incredible source of information, strength, wisdom and compassion. I'm not sure this site was around for you 10+ years ago.
The OCC site itself also has some great resources if they can be useful. Asides from doing topic searches on OVdialogue, within the OCC main site you will find resources such as the "Patient Resource Guide" (it's under support and education). As well, you can join monthly "Teal Teas" to connect via Zoom with other Teal Sisters. Of course in OVdialogue please ask questions. The ladies here are an amazing resource although from the advice you recently offered a Teal Sister, you are clearly bringing wisdom to us too!

Please let us know how we can help you as you navigate your new diagnosis.

You mentioned you are in Ontario. Do you know where your appointment is? I'm in Ontario too and treated out of PMH in Toronto (although I live over 3 hours from there).
We are glad you found us. Please take deep breaths. It's hard I know without information on your personal situation however I'm hoping on the 23rd light will be shed on your situation.
