  • 1.  New clinical trial

    Posted 23 days ago

    Hello everyone,

I am just finishing up my last rounds of my second line of treatment (Carbo Caelyx). I am Stage 3 HGSOC diagnosed in July 2024. My team in Montreal has just informed me that I am possibly eligible for a new clinical study using an ADC sacituzumab tirumotecan (Sac-TMT) as a maintenance drug for platinum sensitive cancer rather then waiting and using later for platinum resistant. It is a phase 3 trial and either you are in the treatment group or a watch and wait control group. There is no "name" for this trial that I am aware of…only the number. I have heard of other ADCs but not this one. Has anyone got any experience with itt? I was not expecting the option to go back into treatment so soon after finishing this last round of chemo. I am on the fence but leaning towards participating. Just looking to see if anyone has any experience with this drug, good or bad. Thank you!

HI @GoldenDaisy ... glad to hear your last round of chemo is done. I hope the chemo was a success for you. I am not familiar with the clinical study you mentioned. I did do a quick search of "Clinical Trials" in OVd as I know GloHo did a lot of posting about various trials she participated in. I saw a few others Teal Sisters who had posted on trials as well. While it won't be specific to this trial, perhaps there is some information in those that may help as you assess your decision to participate. I would hope your oncologist could also provide some perspective...e.g., does this make sense so soon after your last treatment and what are the possible negative impacts (if any), of you participating. Please let us know how things progress. I appreciate your sharing.

Thank you so much for your reply. I still have one last carbo caleyx left. First few infusions were very positive. CA 125 was the same after #4 so hopefully it was a blip and it will go down again for the last one. If not, it is still way down from pre treatment. I have been following and trying to keep up with most trials and meds that are available but this was not familiar to me. I meet my team later in the week so hope to get some questions answered. Was just looking for how anyone might have tolerated this particular med. I will look up some the other threads to see if I am missing any pertinent questions. This was just not something I thought I would be dealing with right now. I will keep you. Posted

@GoldenDaisy good luck with the final infusion and yes hopefully you will see a decline in the CA125. Glad it is however on the downward trend.

One thing I do recall from GloHo was that there were typically restrictions on someone participating in a trial based on the recency of past treatments e.g, within the past 3 months. You team should be able to provide answers and/or connect you with someone else who is knowledgeable. Will be interesting to see what they say.

Thanks for agreeing to keep us posted. It will I'm sure be helpful information for others going forward.

It was actually my team that approached me about being in the trial since it is for platinum sensitive. I believe there is a 10 week delay before the start (which would be great! Need a break!) but otherwise they are wanting to test it as a maintenance. So I will get more info and see! Thanks for the replies!
