Indigenous community members in Southern Alberta (Treaty 7 Territory) are invited to a gathering held in Calgary, Alberta on Sept 18, 2026. A research team led by Dr. Kristin Black (Métis physician and researcher at the University of Calgary), is hosting this gathering to discuss Indigenous perspectives on ovarian cancer, genetic testing, and risk reducing surgery. Our goal is to listen, learn, and better understand community priorities to help guide future research in partnership with Indigenous communities.
If you would like to attend, please RSVP to Anika Sehgal at anika.sehgal@ucalgary.ca. Honoraria will be provided to participants, and limited travel support is available for those travelling from outside Calgary.
