I have been making little paintings (5 x 7) to sell for our Walk of Hope fundraiser in September. I thought it might be a way for people to donate more willingly if they received something in return. It has gone well! I am very close to my goal of $2500. (Not all donations came from my art; people have been incredibly supportive of our cause overall). Here are some of them entitled "My Garden of Hope."

Hi @Tanja thanks for posting this version of the study. I've attached the study information I had previously posted in a separate thread. 

I would agree with you that based on this research (which BC Cancer participated in), that there is indeed evidence that long term PARB treatment should be supported. This study was focused on individuals that had experienced at least one recurrence and continued to be platinum-sensitive. Sadly, the piece the study did not investigate was "why" did this worked for them. Another study needs to be done for that element. Regardless, it's one more piece of data that we can use in our personal advocacy.

I did ask my gyne oncologist (Ontario based) if Lynparza would be an available option for someone who has a recurrence and who remained platinum-sensitive, and she said "no" however she also said that treatment options are changing all the time.

One year after I went off Lynparza (BRCA2+), I had my first recurrence. Underwent chemo again (Taxol and Carbo/Cisplatin) and my oncologist went to bat for me to go back on Lynparza, and it was approved. Unfortunately I recurred again while on it. So it is possible to go back on it.

@MamaJacks thank you for letting me know. There are clearly differences by province and it appears, by oncologist as well which is so frustrating.

I am keeping note of all the information that my Teal Sisters are sharing as hip pocket information. It is going to be very useful if I ever need to challenge it and I have no issues doing them!!! I appreciate the information (although it makes me sad that your recurrence happened while you were on it for the second time 😔).
