    @hgtv well that was a very interesting article! I thought at first that I was reading about something new however then realized it was posted from 2022. I sent the link to my future daughter-in-law who is a PhD student in molecular science with her focus on ovarian cancer. I asked her if she had ever come across "il2" or "implanted drug factories" in her research travels. I'll let you know what she says however I also know there is research happening all over the world on so many different aspects of OVC so she may not even be aware of this research.

    I'll also be curious to see if any other Teal Sisters have heard/read about this. @GloHo you tend to be our resident knowledge base on research, trials etc. Have you ever heard about this??

    @Alwayslearning

    Hmmm…no I've never seen the implantable research. Sounds very interesting!

    There are clinical studies with IL-2 via transfusion.

    It is now on my list for discussion with my Dr at my next visit 😁.

    When I did a general search, nothing popped for implantable IL-2 clinical trials.

    @hgtv

    Thanks for sharing!!

    Love that you have a resource in your future daughter in law! Also love hearing about all the work being done on OVC. My US oncologist says in about 5 years there will be “spine tingling” advances in treatments for all cancers so holding on tight!

    @hgtv yes it is serendipitous that OVC is her area of study. She was researching that before my diagnosis.

    I agree, I love to hear all about the OVC research. I hope your U.S. oncologist is correct. We are due for some "spine tingling" advances! It's been too long.

    @hgtv ... my future daughter-in-law and OVC researcher extraordinaire (ok I'm biased!), said iL2 has been a big potential therapeutic for a while now. She said it's got some good backing as well and it's definitely something to keep an eye on. It isn't the area she is studying so she isn't able to provide more specifics however she tends to have good insight into other research areas so this is indeed promising to hear. We can keep our fingers crossed that it's something we might see on the horizon (soon would be really nice too wouldn't it!).

    Thanks again for bringing this to our attention.

    Now that I know your DIL is got the inside scoop I'm going to ask another question which I am sure you have asked her hahah xxx and sorry if its been shared here already. What about the Universal Cancer Vax?? https://www.livescience.com/health/cancer/universal-cancer-vaccine-heading-to-human-trials-could-be-useful-for-all-forms-of-cancer

    this article says: "This approach could be especially helpful for 'cold' tumors - types of cancer that usually don't trigger a strong immune response, like pancreatic, ovarian, and some types of breast cancer," Azzam, who was not involved in the study, told Live Science in an email. These tumors hide from the immune system and can be difficult to target with immunotherapy, so it's possible that this type of vaccine could help expose these cancers to attack.

    @hgtv ...  hi there. I will definitely ask her about this however with the caveat that vaccine's aren't her area of research. She may/may not have heard of this plus it is more broad scope cancer related so again, may not be something she is aware of. Regardless, one never knows so stay tuned!
