Just wondering if anyone is doing the walk this year?  If you are in BC are you doing the walk at Queens Park Vancouver or Mill Park Abbotsford

@Meinvan I will not be able to attend this year (😞). I've hosted a team of 20+ family/friends for the past two years. Unfortunately, with the change in the date to later in September it conflicts with my existing travel plans. I'm going to figure out a way of doing something prior to the walk date, to get some funds raised and keep my team (Mel's Cure Crusaders) engaged. The cause is too important.  

I can tell you it is a very emotional but uplifting event. I hope many of you will have a chance to participate. If someone from OVd has a team, let us know. If folks cannot participate, there's always the opportunity to donate to the team of one of your Teal Sisters.

I had a team participate last year in Montreal and plan on doing it again. Itwas very emotional as you said. I have not registered my team yet but will let people know when I do!

Hi Golden Daisy, let me know when you register, I would like to go with your team if that's ok?  I'm in Montreal region as well (Kirkland). Last year I did a virtual walk at home because I did not have the energy to do it in person. Thanks!

We will do the walk again this year in Guelph. We've been going since 2022.

I will also be at the Guelph one.  This will be my 4 th one.  ❤️

The walk in Guelph takes place at the Arboretum located at the University of Guelph. Access is off of College Avenue at Victoria Road.
Plenty of parking is available. The entrance is usually marked clearly.
In the past there has been a silent auction, coffee, pastries and hotdogs as well as other snacks.
The route is one of the trails through the arboretum and is about 2 km.
Let me know if you would like any other information. Marianne Fallis usually attends the walk in Guelph and could likely help with anything you need to know as well.

Walk of Hope - Guelph/Kitchener/Waterloo

Hi everyone, 
The Guelph-Kitchener-Waterloo Walk of Hope Committee is working hard on all of the details for this year's event. @MissERP it would be lovely to have you attend! Walk Day Check in will be at 9am, with opening ceremonies and warm up beginning at 10:00am. If there is anything you're wondering about, please let me know and I can share as I'm able!

@mfallis_OCC it might be an early morning for me but I've decided I am going to try and get there. It's in my calendar 😊

The walk in Guelph is amazing. It starts around 9 am for registration. It's a chance to meet other teal sisters as well seeing the support so many people give to us is very up lifting. We all look forward to meeting you and having you join this wonderful event.  

I will be participating, for my second year, in the Halton Walk of Hope located at Spencer Smith Park in Burlington.

I agree with @alwayslearning, it is an emotional but uplifting event that gives us an opportunity to connect, spread awareness, and share hope.

@Diamond17 well now I'm a little sad. That's my walk site too. I participated the last two years however I'm away this year so won't be in attendance. I would have loved to meet up. Hopefully there will be some others folks in OVd who will be at this site too. The last two years the weather has been beautiful albiet it was earlier in the month (I recall last year it was spectacular). I met Stephanie Gosselin from OCC my first year and thus began my journey with OCC and specifically OVdialogue.

I appreciate all the work you've done as a patient advocate with OCC!!

Have an outstanding walk day. Dates permitting, I intend to be there next year!!

The countdown is on for the 2026 Walk of Hope. I was reviewing this and a few other threads and am so thrilled to see so many Teal Sisters participating or supporting each other this year. Rain or shine it will be an awesome event across Canada. Thank you to everyone for their engagement and fund raising efforts as well. As you all know the walk is the largest dedicated fundraiser across Canada for ovarian cancer. It also raises much needed awareness regarding the disease. You are all contributing to that in a huge way!!!!!!
