Community Connection: Ovarian Cancer Canada is looking for volunteers! Could you help?

OVdialogue – consider joining our team in the role of Community Champion. Over a few hours each week, you would be part of a team that helps connect people, support conversations and are thought leaders for OVdialogue. This is your opportunity to give back to those who have/continue to support you through the tough times, share your unique experiences, and help celebrate successes. For more details of what this entails, please reach out to @Mfallis (mfallis@ovariancanada.org).
Ovarian Cancer Canada is thrilled to share that we have some exciting updates on the way for OVdialogue. These enhancements are designed to strengthen our community and make your experience even better.

Stay tuned for more details, and feel free to share your thoughts below. Let’s make this community even stronger!

Five year survivor

Hi. I'm Laurie from Ontario. I was first diagnosed at age 48 with stage 2b high grade serous ovarian cancer. I had surgery and 6 rounds of carbo/taxol. That was Sept 2012. I was ok for four and a half years and I had a recurrence March 2017. Another surgery and 6 more chemo . I finished Aug 30th. I have the brip 1 gene and started lynparza about 4 weeks ago. I can help answer questions as I've been through this twice. Looking to connect with others in Canada.

  • Hello and Welcome @Laurie -thank you for sharing your story.
  • Nice to 'meet' you!
  • Hello @Laurie Welcome.  Congrats on your success.
  • Hi @Laurie Welcome to OVdialogue! Thanks for being so willing to provide support to other women and seek it out for yourself too.  You might want to check out the discussion on Lynparza and connect with others who are taking the drug.  How is it going?  Have you noticed any side effects and how are you managing them?
