Community Connection: Ovarian Cancer Canada is looking for volunteers! Could you help?

OVdialogue – consider joining our team in the role of Peer Support Volunteer. Over a few hours each week, you would be part of a team that helps connect people, support conversations and are thought leaders for OVdialogue. This is your opportunity to give back to those who have/continue to support you through the tough times, share your unique experiences, and help celebrate successes. For more details of what this entails, please reach out to @Mfallis (mfallis@ovariancanada.org).

  • UPDATE with more information, agenda and registration link.  Sounds like an exciting day!

World Ovarian Cancer Day is May 8th and this year the theme is Powerful, Together.  We at Ovarian Cancer Canada have put together an exciting Symposium to celebrate just that – the power of collaboration and kinship, as well as educational sessions with experts from across the country.

The first hour is celebration time! Powered By Impact will showcase all of the inspiring work happening during challenging Covid times. Attendees will hear from global leaders, staff members, survivors, volunteers, board members, corporate partners and donors.

The celebration hour will be followed by some excellent sessions providing updates on research, we will hear from Patient Partners involved in Research as well as Research Trainees from across the country.  We will also learn about nutrition specific for women living with ovarian cancer and Wellness Chef Geremy Capone will cook up some fabulous spring recipes.   There will be some comedic relief from Teal Sister, Karen Mills, and we will also have time to connect and share with one another.

Registration if FREE, and people can register at ovariancanada.org/symposium.

I have attached the agenda for the day below.

  • If you weren't able to complete the survey at the end of the symposium, here is the link.  Your input is important as OCC continues to plan future events and programs. If you attended, please try to find a few moments to complete it.
